3/17/2013 St. Patty's Green SmoothiesWhat could be a better way to recover from St. Patty's celebrations than with a super healthy and nutritious GREEN smoothie!? I love sneaking kale or spinach into my smoothies for several reasons . . . 1- fruit really masks the flavor of the greens and it makes for a delicious breakfast, 2 - it's an easy way to add nutrients and veggies into your daily diet, and 3 - I feel AMAZING after drinking a green smoothie or cold-pressed juice. It gives me so much energy that lasts throughout the day! Here is the recipe for one of my new favorite smoothies . . . Pineapple Banana Kale Smoothie 1/2 banana 1 cup pineapple 2 large handfuls of kale 3/4 cup coconut water 1 scoop natural vanilla protein powder Blend VERY well until smooth! Another DELICIOUS smoothie with greens:
Blueberry Banana Almond Smoothie 1/2 banana 1/2 cup frozen blueberries 1 tbsp almond butter 1 tbsp ground flax seeds 1 scoop natural vanilla protein powder 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 2 big handfuls spinach Drink up! Cheers to your health!
