3/26/2020 Take Me to Mexico PalomaWe were supposed to head off to Mexico this weekend with 24 family members for our annual family trip, where we'd catch up on much-needed quality time, eat tons of guacamole, relax in the sunshine, and dip Noah's toes in the ocean, but this quarantine had other plans for us! So the trip will be rescheduled for next year, and in the meantime, we'll stay home, stay safe, and pour ourselves what I've decided to call the Take Me to Mexico Paloma, because it tastes like a vacation in a salt-rimmed glass. No surprise, there's no added sugar in this cocktail, which means you don't have to worry about waking up on Quarantine Day #283 with a hangover! Step 1. Pour coarse salt into a small dish. Run a lime wedge over the rims of two glasses, then dip them into the salt. Add the lime on the rims for garnish & pour ice into the glasses. Step 2. Add ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour 3 ounces of your favorite tequila into the shaker. Next, juice 1 grapefruit and 1 lime into the shaker. Put the lid on and shake shake shake! Step 3. Pour the tequila / juice mixture into your glasses. Step 4. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water. I like Topo Chico (either the plain or grapefruit flavor) or Pamplemousse LaCroix for this! Step 5. Garnish with an extra grapefruit slice. Drink up! Cheers friends!! Just to summarize, here are the ingredients!
Ingredients 3 ounces tequila Juice of 1 grapefruit Juice of 1 lime Sparkling water (like Topo Chico or LaCroix) Ice Lime & grapefruit slices for garnish Enjoy!
