Going out to dinner with your favorite people is a fun part of life and shouldn’t be something you feel like you have to avoid when you’re trying to live a healthy lifestyle. When we're working out, eating well, and doing our best to live our healthiest lives, there can be this anxiety about going out to dinner because we worry that it might slow our momentum, or worse, get us totally off track. But really, if you get strategic when it comes to splurging, you can afford that occasional treat meal (without the guilt). And you can also become a master at tweaking a menu so it works for you and your healthy lifestyle, and you won't have to stress about a girls' dinner out. Once you do that, you can actually have some pretty balanced meals when you're out and about! Let's get into it...
Going all-natural with my skincare is something that's been on my list for a long time. It took me a while and a lot of baby steps to get there, but I'm really excited that I've finally found a regimen that works for me. You may be wondering why it's an important thing to do, and I was the same way. But think about it... we spend all of this time and energy buying healthy, organic groceries, reading ingredient labels, and putting the best foods in our body, but what about what we use on our bodies?
Even though I’m still a bit jet-lagged from our trip to Italy, I’m already dreaming of going back! Between the insanely delicious food, the romantic cities, gorgeous sites, the Aperol Spritzes (order one, trust me!), and the Italian lifestyle that just forces you to slow down and enjoy every moment, it’s definitely become my happy place! As I was sharing our daily adventures on my insta stories, I got a ton of a requests for a “guide to Italy” with all of our favorite restaurants, hotels, and activities. So I used the long flight home to get all the details in one place and I’m super excited to share it with you! Please send me a message or comment on this post if you end up going to any of these spots… I’ll be so excited to hear about your experience there!! Allora i miei amici, here we go…
One of the most common questions I get from clients, friends, and readers is how to satisfy a demanding sweet tooth without completely "falling off the wagon". Believe me, I get it. I love my sweets. It's something I look forward to each day, and if someone tried to tell me I couldn't have it, I'd feel deprived and restricted, and I'd want it that much more. Then I'd probably overdo it, and feel a little guilty for going overboard. So it's important to quit the deprivation and restriction, and figure out how to indulge consciously, mindfully, and guiltlessly! Delicious sweets are supposed to make you feel satisfied and happy, after all. Here's my 5 tips to make it happen.
I've been getting so many emails and messages on instagram lately about places to dine in San Diego, so I figured it was time to share a little guide to all my favorite restaurants! When I moved back to San Diego from LA last year, I knew I'd seriously miss my go-to spots and all the variety that LA had to offer. But I have to say, we're pretty lucky here with a ton of awesome options (tons of healthy ones and lots of amazing spots for your weekend treat meals), and it's super exciting to see some of my favorite LA restaurants making their way down here too! I'll make sure to keep this list current and updated as I continue discovering all the local gems, but definitely follow along on my instagram story highlights ("SD spots") too so you can see the latest and greatest and learn some little tips for ordering healthy meals!
