You should 100% make this smoothie. Make it when you're feeling great or when you're under the weather - either way it will be the perfect pick-me-up. If you're not convinced, here's a few more reasons to gulp down this smoothie ASAP . . . the lemon and orange provide your full daily dose of Vitamin C, the chia seeds provide fiber, healthy fat, and protein, cayenne is an anti-cold and detoxing powerhouse, coconut oil is the perfect source of healthy fat (gotta eat fat to lose fat!), and ginger is great for digestion and fighting infection. Sheesh! That's one powerful smoothie!
Juice of 1 lemon
2 inch piece of fresh ginger (or more if you love ginger!)
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp coconut oil
3 shakes of ground cayenne pepper (add more for extra spicy!)
1 cup water
Put all ingredients in a blender and whirl away! Taste test to see if you want to add extra ginger or cayenne. I'd recommend both if you're not feeling well! Enjoy!
