7/9/2013 Perfect Workout Snack: Fit BitesThese Fit Bites are the perfect healthy grab-and-go snack. I'm usually a little wary when it comes to protein bars because they usually huge a list of ingredients. My favorite ones tend to be the most simple, so I figured why not make a simple and delicious energy bar (or snack-sized energy balls) right at home?! My beautiful and super fit friend Abby from SAYiWON'T FiT came over to teach us how to whip up these delicious bites, and I'm hooked! SAYiWON'T started out as an answer to any challenge. It is now a lifestyle concept and brand for individuals who choose not to see the impossible, but only the opportunity. Pretty empowering, right!? Abby is the Fit side of SAYiWON'T and her focus is all about healthy recipes, a balanced lifestyle, and motivating you to get fit! A perfect match with WeekNight Bite! Her recipes are delicious, easy, and super healthy, and I've been loving all of her motivational tweets. You can follow SAYiWON'T FIT on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook. Now how cute are these nutrition-packed balls? Our recipe is for the basic (but delicious) Bites, but you can add anything your heart desires to the recipe and pump up the flavor even more! If you want them sweeter, add some dried fruits or cacao powder. Need even more protein? Add a bit of your protein powder! Get creative with these little guys, store them in your fridge, and grab one on the go whenever you need a little boost!
Ingredients 1 cup gluten free rolled oats (we put these through our food processor to make them a little finer & smoother) 1/4 cup chopped almonds 1 tbsp chia seeds 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds 2 tbsp honey 1/2 cup natural almond butter 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut A sprinkle of sea salt for each Bite Makes 15 Fit Bites. Mix all ingredients together, either by hand or in a standing mixer. Then roll into little balls, packing them tightly. Sprinkle a little sea salt on each ball, then refrigerate for about 30 minutes. That's it! Enjoy, my fit friends!!

I love this. Most store bought granola bars are filled with sugar and hydrogenated oils. I will try this and add chocolate chips!
