Today I had a gum graft. YUCK! This is something I have been putting off for a while, (who is in a rush to do a procedure like that!?) and the longer I waited, the more sensitive my teeth have become. I finally decided to schedule it, and met with my dentist to get the details a couple weeks ago. To my dismay, my Dr. told me that after the graft, I would be restricted to soft foods for the first few days and up to a week. This included pasta, mashed potatoes, luke-warm soup, rice, etc. I was very unenthused about filling up on pasta and blah carbs for a week straight, so I figured what better time than this to do a juice cleanse and get all the necessary nutrients and vitamins in my system while I recover!
I had heard all about Suja's 3-day cleanse through my friend Lauryn's amazing lifestyle blog The Skinny Confidential. Ever since I read about her love for these cold-pressed organic juices, I started buying the Glow for a quick pick-me-up. I love this refreshing juice and feel great after I gulp it down - it's filled with apple, cucumber, kale, celery, spinach, collard, & mint ... such great ingredients! I figured if the whole cleanse is delicious as the Glow juice that I have come to crave, it would probably be a great 3 days!
Today is day two of my cleanse, and I am feeling pretty phenomenal! Despite my gum surgery which is a total bummer, my spirits are high, my mind is clear, and I have a ton of energy! I'm feeling extra productive and alert today and know that it's because of all these super healthy ingredients that I've been consuming the last two days! They say that after a cleanse, you no longer crave the "bad stuff" and instead just want to keep filling your body with nutrients! I can totally understand it since I'm feeling so CLEAN, for lack of a better word (I guess that's the purpose of a cleanse) . . . and the last thing I would want to eat is something junky and processed! I woke up hungry with a grumbling tummy today and was ready to down my 1st juice. There is some flexibility on this cleanse and if you need to eat something, Suja provides you with some foods that compliment the cleanse perfectly. But so far so good today, the juices are filling me up!
Tomorrow is the last day of my cleanse, so I'll let you all know how I feel, but I'm really excited about how energized and invigorated I am today! If you're interested in a 3-day cleanse, definitely try out Suja!

PS - a helpful cleansing tip - don't cleanse while watching Weeknights with Giada or any other Food Network show for that matter! I made that mistake already!
